Is gender selection a right-to-choose dilemma or simply a technologica…
San Francisco Chronicle - Jul 23, 2006
” Marcy Darnovsky, associate executive director of the Center for Genetics and Society in Oakland, agrees that gender selection in the United States won’t drastically skew the gender ratios. But she worries about the potential for discrimination and the possibility of creating designer babies. “One of the really big concerns for us is that if you’re going to choose the sex of your child, what’s next — height, musical aptitude or how well bodies metabolize oxygen so they can be athletes?” The ethics committee of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine acknowledges these concerns but doesn’t suggest a ban on gender selection for family balancing. It concluded in a 2001 report on PGD that if sex-selection methods are proven safe and effective, then doctors should be free to offer them to couples who want “gender variety” if they’re informed about the possibility of failure and agree to accept children of the wrong sex. And there is no shortage of couples — and single women — interested in choosing the sex of their children. Of more than 23,800 votes in an online poll posted by BabyCenter. com, 40 percent said they tried methods to select the sex of their baby.

Anderson Cancer Center. The finding, published in the journal Nature Medicine, now available on-line, provides the first measurable link between psychological stress and the biological processes that make ovarian tumors grow and spread. Specifically, the researchers showed that stress hormones bind to receptors directly on tumor cells and, in turn, stimulate new blood vessel growth and other factors that lead to faster and more aggressive tumors. “This study provides a new understanding of how chronic stress and stress factors drive tumor growth,” says Anil Sood, M. , associate professor of gynecologic oncology and cancer biology and director of ovarian cancer research.

Bridges are blown up and destroyed and so are the infrastructures of Iraq, Palestine and Lebanon. Poverty is spreading among people; for instance poverty in Gaza Strip is 78 percent. There is not enough medicine and food. Farms are being bulldozed, trees are being uprooted and the produce of the farmers are getting spoiled and rotten at the check points. In Palestine, people cannot move freely from one place to the other. Patients die at the check points waiting to be allowed to cross to go to get medical treatments. Even dead people are not allowed to cross these check points without delay… Bush said it was for self-defence and “Israel” has the right to kill, destroy and occupy more territories. The US Imperialists and the Zionist Leaders consider the Arabs worthless and insignificant, and for this reason Bush sends more arms to kill more Arabs, in Lebanon, in Palestine and in Iraq. Here are few quotes by some Zionist leaders that reflect the racist nature and practices of the Zionist entity that Washington and London support. “There is a huge gap between us (Jews) and our enemies
